The San Diego County Medial Examiner’s Office has identifyed Leonardo Ramirez Palado as the victim of an accident who was stuck by a motorcycle and killed on Christmas Eve. Palado was believe to have been crossing the street on Miramar Road when he was struck and killed by a motorcycle who was heading westbound. Early this morning here in San Diego, poor weather conditions caused a series of car accidents on Highway 8 in both directions. In one of the several car accidents in San Diego, a pick-up truck lost control and rolled down and embankment killing the driver instantly. The crash occurred near the Peutz Valley. It is unclear whether the wind and rainy conditions were the cause of the crash and the CHP is investigating.

The LA Times reports that a suspected driver who fled the scene of a fatal crash was arrested. The crash occured on the 55 Freeway in Orange near Anaheim.
Oscar Omar Guereca fled the scene of the crash after his SUV rear-ended a Toyota Avalon at an estimated speed of 85mph. After a short chase, the CHP arrested Guereca. As reported on this blog, alcohol related accidents remain the cause of some of the most tragic fatal car accidents in California.

A single-engine Beech Bonza plane crashed just 40 miles north of San Diego killing the pilot and passenger. The plane crash occured in the Warner Springs area which is known for being a gateway for those flying to and from the Palm Springs area.

This morning, a Dunbar armored truck rollover resulted in the death of one of Dunbar’s security guards. The accident occurred on Route 94 near the I-15 connector close to the Mount Hope onramp. The armored truck lost control, crashed into a raised concrere barrier and then went down an embankment. The victim, who’s name has not yet been released, was sitting int he passenger seat. He was ejected on impact and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
